This series has two objectives: To demonstrate that developing faith for divine healing is biblical, practical and beneficial. To foster reasonable expectations for divine intervention in the healing and recovery of your physical body. To this end, we first discussed how we needed to look at healing holistically. A narrow understanding of divine healing will often place people in one of two categories: Healing . Healing never. The reality is that faith is not the only variable affecting our physical health. Though this is true. . . we can still approach God when we are faced with sickness AND maintain a expectation to be healed. In fact, this series is going to encourage you to expect healing time even though you know people are not healed all the time. Stop looking at analytics and stick with your ace. Jesus is your ace. Jesus, our ace, is the healer and to see Him as the healer, as we discussed last week, we must also see Him holistically. To see Jesus holistically is to see Him as the personification of every divine God has revealed to us in Scripture. All the promises, principles and prophecies of Scripture culminate in (Luke 24:27) Jesus: Everything We Want and Need from God Colossians 1:13-19 Colossians 2:9 Hebrews 1:1-4 The Names of God in the Old Testament (Drawn from the Hilton Sutton Study Bible, The King James Bible Red Lettered, “The Names and Attributes of God” pp. xi-xv) Eloah (singular)/Elohim (plural) – “The Mighty One”/”The Almighty” (e.g. Job 3:4, Neh 9:17, Gen 1:1, Gen 1:26) Jehovah – “The Self-Existing One” (used close to 6000 times in Scripture) Adon (singular)/Adonahy (plural) – “Lord” (e.g. Ex. 23:17, Gen. 15:2) El Elyon – “The Most High God”/”The High God”/”God is the High One” (e.g. Gen 14:18, Ps 78:35) El Roi – “God Sees Me”/”God is the One Who Sees Me” (Gen. 16:13) El Shadday (Shaddai) – “The Almighty God”/“God Almighty”/“The Almighty”/ “God is the All-Powerful One” (e.g. Gen 17:1, Gen 43:14, Job 8:5) El Olam – “The Everlasting God”/”God is the Eternal One” (Gen 21:33, Deut 33:27, Ps 146:10) El Chai (Hai) – “The Living God” (Deut 5:25) El Kanna – “The Jealous God” (Ex 20:5) El Hannun – “The Merciful God (Deut 4:31) El Avraham Yitzak v-Yacov – “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Ex 3:15) Jehovah Sabaoth (Tsebaoth) – “The Lord of Hosts”/“Jehovah of the (Heavenly) Armies” (e.g. I Sam 1:3, Isa 31:14) Jehovah Nissi “The Lord My Banner”/”The Lord is My Victory” (Ex 17:15) Jehovah Rophe/Rophi/Rapha – “The Lord Who Heals You” (Ex. 15:26) Jehovah Jireh – “The Lord Who Provides” (Gen. 22:14) Jehovah Tzadekenu (Tsidikenu) – “The Lord Our Righteousness” (Jer. 23:6) Jehovah Rohi – “The Lord My Shepherd” (Ps. 23:1) Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh – “I Am That I Am” Exodus 3:13-14 John 8:52-59 Philippians 2:9-10 The Importance of Starting with Jesus Receiving divine healing has everything to do with seeing Jesus . Ironically, to secure the prosperity that Word of faith preachers talk about, we must focus less on (the way we understand it) and focus more on . Jesus is . He’s everything we need. This includes . When we can see the God that heals in , we can receive healing from Him, like so many people did when Jesus walked physically on the earth. © Joshua D.
