One of the signature qualities of wisdom is meekness. Meekness is not weakness, but gentleness. Gentleness is strength under control. What is the meekness of wisdom? Wisdom does not brag. Wisdom shows far more than it shares. Wisdom keeps what it shares under restraint because of the fear of the Lord. (Proverbs 9:10) Wisdom acknowledges that God is always the room. Royal protocols demand that you always defer to the sovereign. Wisdom thinks this: Who am I to say anything when someone wiser than me is present? Wisdom’s first priority is to obey, not to say. Wise people watch their words, knowing that God is already watching Matthew 12:35–37 Psalm 19:14 How do you spot a fool? Find the person who is doing all the talking. Proverbs 29:11 Proverbs 17:28 Our mouths belong to God. Who are we to do anything with it other than what God says do with it? Exodus 4:10–12 Job 38:1-4 Job 40:3-5 The Meekness of Wisdom in Three Simple Steps: Fear God Shut your mouth. Let Him speak to you and through you. © Joshua D.
