Tell Me A Story of Home

  • This is another movie that opens up with a child looking up to his , in this case, his father.
  • Like all children—and really, all people, this child wants to understand who he is and is pondering life’s questions:

Who am I?

Where am I from?

What I am going What can I do?

What am I for?

  • These questions can only be answered by knowing the of your life, so he asks his father to tell him the story of home.
  • By analogy, we see our own story in story.
  • is the meteor that struck planet earth.
  • Yes, there is alien life from another world. is that alien.
  • God struck the earth in the form of , the Christ. Jesus gives us His .
  • Just like vibranium affected all plant life, God’s spirit is out on all flesh (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:17-18)—which means that because of Jesus, we all have access to wifi. We just have to become a . The signal is being sent to everyone, not just prophets. We now only need to open up our antennae (i.e. our ).
  • Just like the panther goddess Bast led the Wakandan tribes to an herb that gave them new life, the leads us to Jesus, who is our spiritual and who give us new life (John 6:54-55; John 4:14).
  • When you consume spiritual food, you become (I Peter 2:9; Ephesians 2:4-6; I Timothy 2:12; Revelations 20:4-6). You take on the of your Father and Jesus becomes your big (Hebrews 2:10-11).
  • However, like the Jabari tribe, some people are not excited about Christ’s (Luke 19:14; Psalm 118:22; I Peter 2:7-8; John 16:18).
  • “As Wakanda thrived, the world around it descended into chaos.” By way of analogy, the Kingdom of God thrives while the world around it descends into chaos.
  • There are two different , one visible, the other invisible.
  • Like Wakanda, the Kingdom of God and its power is hidden in plain (Luke 17:20-21).
  • However, unlike Wakanda, God does not hide our vibranium from people, but people.
  • He reveals the location of the treasures of the kingdom to people who are ready to it (Proverbs 2:1-7).
  • Jesus used to screen for people who were actually seeking truth (Matthew 13:13-15).
  • The parable is a reflection of you. When your heart is , the parable closes its revelation to you. When your heart is , the parable opens its revelation to you.
  • Jesus had to distinguish between those who were truly for Jesus, the of life, and those who were merely for more loaves and fish (John 6:25-27).

An Ambassador Off Mission

  • N’Jobu is an undercover .
  • An ambassador is the representation of a country within another country.
  • Our ambassador role is the royal expression of our status.
  • The Bible describes us as immigrants or .
  • Sojourners are people who live in a place , in essence, a place that is not their home.
  • This earth is not our home. Our is in heaven (Philippians 3:20):

I Peter 2:9-11

I Chronicles 29:14-15

Hebrews 11:13-16

  • We must keep our focus on the city to retain our rights and privileges as ambassadors.
  • As ambassadors, we can only speak what our speaks and take actions that reflect our government’s policies.
  • N’Jobu lost sight of this and took matters into his own hands.
  • II Corinthians 5:16-21
  • As ambassadors, the government provides for all of our .
  • It issues us an suit, which upon our adoption back into the kingdom, becomes enhanced with the power of the
  • This is similar to the way that the herb and the Black Panther suit gives added powers to T’Challa.
  • Just like the ambassadors of earthly countries, our government provides for our material , our message and our authority (Matthew 6:31-33).
  • We use the name of our king to conduct official and receive escorts when we travel (Mark 16:17-18; Hebrews 1:13-14; Psalm 34:7; Psalm 91:11-12)

Memory Verse He as put has put his angles in charge of [me]. They will watch over [me] wherever [I] go (Psalm 91:11, ICB)

  • When you attack an ambassador, you are attacking a (Matthew 26:52-54).
  • As ambassador, Jesus temporarily suspended this rule so that He could die on the cross.
  • Jesus, our big brother, will eventually ask us to give an for our ambassadorial work.
  • We will have to account for our work in a heavenly court of (Revelation 20:11-15).
  • We will receive or consequences based on our works (Revelation 22:12; Romans 2:6; II John 1:7-8)
  • Our works will be tested for their (I Corinthians 3:11-15).
  • Our rewards will be tied to authority in the new (I Corinthians 9:24-27; James 1:12; Revelations 3:21).

“Speak Nothing of This Day”

  • One of the most aspects of Jesus’ earthly ministry is that He was selective about who he permitted to tell about what He did.
  • Most of the time after he healed someone, He asked people not to what happened.
  • This bewildered and sometimes angered people, which contributed to the skepticism harbored by His own (John 7:3-7).
  • This was because He did not want to receive glory, which was based on human for power (John 2:23-25).
  • The movie’s theme represents the Christian challenge: How do you respond to this world’s needs without violating the principles of your home world?
